Leilani Akwue
Vice President; Senator, College of Arts and Sciences
Aloha!
My name is Leilani Akwue, and I am a sophomore double majoring in English and Political Science. I've had the honor of serving as Chairperson of the UAA this past year. I am running again for office because I am steadfast in my goal to enhance the effectiveness of student government by improving communication, increasing accountability, and ensuring that every initiative delivers real value to students. This year, I am running for both Vice President and Senator for the College of Arts and Sciences. I intend to carry the experiences I've gained as chair into the executive level – working to make changes that support the Senate and serve the people. No matter the outcome, my commitment to you remains unchanged. I will continue to listen and I will continue to act because I know that when we lead with intention, our community grows stronger.
Mahalo for your support.

Hema Watson
President; Senator, College of Arts and Sciences
Aloha mai kākou!
My name is Hema Kealohanuikaiama Watson, and I am a Junior going for a double major in Political Science and Hawaiian Studies. I've served ASUH for a full year, two terms, and I am currently the Vice-Chair of the Finance Committee. I am now running for both President and Senator for the College of Arts and Sciences. I want to use the experience I've gained this past year to uplift and further students in whatever they believe in and want to do! Some items on my agenda are increasing our budget so that we have more money to fund your local RIO's (registered clubs and other student organizations), expanding our scholarships so that more students can afford to attend this school, and protecting students rights to learn and research what they want to. No matter what happens I will always try my best to serve the student body but with me as President I hope to push UH Mānoa into a a more resilient and diverse space.
Mahalo nui for your support.

Shaina Laguatan
Senator, College of Arts and Sciences
Aloha everyone! My name is Shaina Laguatan, and I’m a sophomore majoring in Political Science under the College of Arts and Sciences. During my free time, I enjoy working with graphic design, cooking, and watching K-dramas on Netflix.
I’m running for Senator of Arts and Sciences because I want to strengthen student representation and help create a more inclusive, connected campus community. Through my experiences as a Hawai’i State Senate intern, English mentor for international students, and welcoming new students as an Orientation Leader, I’ve learned how powerful active listening and building multicultural relationships can be, which is especially valuable at our diverse university. Since we all face different challenges—academically, financially, and emotionally—these concerns deserve to be acknowledged and acted on. I will work alongside students, gather their feedback, and advocate for meaningful change so we can all thrive with a greater sense of belonging and success at UH Mānoa!
Lord Vins Sugui
Senator At Large, College of Arts and Sciences
Aloha Mai Kakou, my name is Lord Vinz Sugui and I’m studying political science in the College of Arts and Sciences. I’m an incoming senior here at UH Mānoa and I’m running for the ASUH Senator at large and senator of the College of Arts and Science. Some of my hobbies include going to the gym, sewing, and lei making. Some of my interests include legal work, education, and community work.
Throughout my undergraduate time here I haven’t seen or heard much about ASUH so in running (and if I have the wonderful opportunity to be elected) I hope to share and advertise the importance of student organization to my fellow undergraduate peers. I’ve worked not only as a tutor for students of various backgrounds but for the Hawai’i Department of Parks and Recreation, both have given me the opportunity to support and understand the needs of people.
Sayleen Aglanao
Senator, College of Arts and Sciences
Major: Political Science and Psychology
Hobbies and Interests: Kickboxing, Going to the beach, Hello Kitty
Why are you running: I am running to boost student engagement and amplify student voices. I want to contribute to ensuring students feel heard and supported. Through improving campus resources and services or just bringing people together, I am looking forward to creating a space for students to thrive academically, socially, and culturally.
What do you want to accomplish while in office: I want to accomplish more support for
affordability and basic needs, improve student wellness, celebrate and uplift student work, and promote transparency and communication.
Regan Humphrey
President; Senator, College of Arts and Sciences
Double Major: Dance & East Asian Studies
Class Standing: Junior
Hobbies: Books, Films, Music, Travel
As a 2nd Bachelor student, my experience at UHM has been heavily influenced by the various rules and regulations imposed on what we can take, what counts toward our majors, and what doesn’t. Restrictive major requirements and inflexible course scheduling often keep us from learning all that we want to learn, when we want to learn it. That needs to change. My focus is increasing academic freedom and agency across campus and prioritizing student well-being.
My Goals:
Implement a Two-Week Spring Break
Modernize the Space Rental Process
Advocate for Student Input on Summer Courses & Scheduling
Remove Major Restrictions on Electives
Prior Experience:
2.5 Years Peer Advocate & Student Representative
2 Years Graduate Student Representative
1 Year Sustainability & Social Justice Coordinator
1 Year Chair, Justice Leadership Council

Samantha Avila Gomez
President; Senator, College of Arts and Sciences
Hello everyone!
My name is Samantha Avila Gomez, a third year at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa studying Sociology and Human Development & Family Studies. I aspire to be a criminal defense attorney, as a firm believer that the law is a tool we can use to help build and protect our communities. This year I’m running to serve as your ASUH President. This is a role that carries tremendous responsibility and needs a leader that is ready to rise to the challenges and can serve all students. I’m ready to be that leader. Raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, I grew up grassroots organizing and a deep love for community, teaching me that together we are stronger together. I currently am a Senator for the College of Arts and Sciences and serve as Chair for Investments and Long Range Planning. Tuleen Ziadeh
Vice President; Senator, College of Arts and Sciences
Hi everyone!
My name is Tuleen Ziadeh, and I'm studying Anthropology and Studio Art here at UH Manoa. I'm currently serving as Senator-at-Large for ASUH, and I'm excited for the opportunity to be running for Vice President! I've come to realize how few students actually know what ASUH is, or how it can work for you. I want to change that -- my goal is to make student government more transparent, accessible, and responsive to what you actually care about. I'm here to listen, to advocate for your needs, and to make sure your ideas and concerns are heard where it counts. Together, we can build a campus where students feel represented, supported, and empowered.

Lilliana Marco
Senator, College of Arts and Sciences
Hi! I’m Lilly and I’m running to be re-elected into the Senator of the College of Arts & Sciences position! For CAS, I’m a Cinematics Arts major, but I also am part of the College of Social Sciences! At UH, I’m a Director for KTUH, a photographer for Ka Leo, & on the PRSSA E-board. As for student council specifically, I have been involved in it since 5th grade, serving in several different positions throughout the years. This past school year was my first year of college and being in the Senate with ASUH has taught me a lot about UH and the Associated Students program we have here. I believe I bring a unique perspective to ASUH from still being relatively new to UH and multiple-majoring across schools. I want to continue to positively contribute to the UH community and would greatly appreciate your vote! :)
